Do this anime brings back memories?
Well, it sure does to me! I think I was 11 when it first aired in Philippines and in an instant my friends and I went gaga over it. Surprisingly, I still remember those times when I used to go over to my elementary friend's house, Meg, just to listen to her latest downloads on Rurouni Kenshin soundtracks. Then, Meg's gonna phone her cousin to bring over the printed lyrics of the songs and the three of us will sing together. It's so sad eh? Going to a friends place, which is approximately 30 minutes jeep ride from my place, just to listen to an anime's soundtracks and sing in a foreign language ... Somehow I feel sorry and laughing at myself at the same time. Lol.
Then, the CD Era came. The moment I got my hands on the soundtrack CD of Rurouni Kenshin, I listened to it like there's no forever. My happiness was overflowing about the treasure I found that I wanted to boast to my neighbors that I have the "CD". So, whenever I listen to it, which is every single day, I max the volume causing every passerby to glance towards the direction of my house. Add to that the children that used to gather outside my house and sing in gibberish whenever they hear the songs playing. That reminds me, hearing those children sing in gibberish used to make me laugh and make me think how silly they are. But now that I'm old, I realized that we were riding the same boat and makes me realize I'm more silly than them. Hahahaha!! XD Old times...old times..
I also remember the mornings(this is getting dramatic -_-"") when I get excited to go to school with the thoughts "I can't wait to tell Casey(my childhood friend and old classmate) that I watched the same episode twice!" or "Gyahhhhhh!!! Me and Casey are going to talk about how hot Kenshin is when we see each other at school!!*dreamy eyes*" in my mind. Mind you, my friends used to bring "hot" printed pictures of Kenshin at school and then all of us drool over it. Apparently, silly me was head over heels in-love with Kenshin. Haha! XD
It wasn't just Kenshin I was in-love with. It seems that I'm not contented with just one man. Actually, I even cheated on my ex. Yes, I wasn't a loyal girlfriend. At first, I cheated on my ex with this guy named Yuki and then the second time was with this guy named Rei ...no wonder my ex broke up with me...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Only those Otaku out there would probably know what I'm talking about.
You're probably wondering who the hell is this Yuki? or this Rei guy? Okay, to put it simply, these two are fictional characters from the anime Fruits Basket and Supergals respectively. I used to admire these anime characters when I was in my first and second year of high school. In fact, whenever I hear the name of Yuki or Rei from my classmates' mouths, my nerves get all worked-up! Haha! XD
Oh, just to avoid future misunderstandings, let me clarify this: I NEVER CHEATED ON MY EX. It just happened that when I was dating him, I was still infatuated over these fictional anime characters. So, I tweaked the story a bit saying that I cheated on him even though in reality I did not. ;)
Thank goodness, at my age, I don't get gaga over this supposed to be "hot" anime characters anymore. *phew* From recalling these memories, I came up with a conclusion: I matured!
A bit.
Hehe^^
